Daily Tip for Thursday June 17th – Polls report that consumers love discounts.
Posted on 17. Jun, 2010 by Inside Hospitality in Daily Tip
Daily Tip: Polls and surveys mean nothing.
Everyday we read crazy surveys, tweets and polls about how consumers like coupons and use discounts when dining out.
Yeah, no kidding. Why is that a surprise to anyone? We are not fans of “surveys or polls” because they only report one side of the story.
This is how the survey or polls goes…
Coupon Guru: Do you like saving money when dining out by using coupons, bogo’s or other discount offers?
Typical Consumer: Of course.
Of course the consumer is going to say yes. Who wouldn’t say yes when asked if you want to save money?
A word of caution, follow the blog posts and tweets and see who is behind these “polls and surveys”. Chances are you will see why we don’t hold much validity in these surveys.
Offer a better guest experience and you won’t get caught up in the coupon and discount hamster wheel.
