Today’s Tip: If it comes down to price, we lose.

We received an interesting call yesterday. A restaurant management group with 17 locations on the west coast requested some information about our mystery shopping program.

Awesome, great ! We get calls like this every day.

We had a great initial call and started to discuss some of the program specifics. The gentleman said that his company is going to make a decision on what company to work with based on the price of service.

We immediately said that we probably aren’t the firm for your organization, if your entire decision is based on price.

Making a major decision such as a mystery shopping company to use based completely on price is insane and dangerous. Why would price be the deciding factor? It shouldn’t be.

Decisions need to be made based on value, industry understanding and experience. But, if price is driving your decision, go to google and type in “mystery shopping”.

Good luck with that.
